page flipping
thumb wetting
all day
car curbing
drive by tripping
thug getting
in the way
anchor hairdo
suit up brand new
teleprompter camera in view
reel in today
front page headline
very big crime
heard on the grapevine
that it doesn't pay
commercial break
time's at stake
smile that's fake
deliver the news
some of it shocks
some of it rocks
some of it mocks
most of the time it gives me the blues
time's are a changing
life's rearranging
am I still engaging
to what still holds true
reporter on the screen
tells me what i haven't seen
need someone to intervene
and tell me about some Good news
