Reese Witherspoon Tattoo Pictures and Photos Surprising?

Chris Houston

Are the Reese Witherspoon tattoo pictures and photos shocking-even surprising? Witherspoon had her picture snapped while on vacation recently. The pictures and photos revealed what appeared to be a tattoo on her stomach. Now the belly tatto pics are one of the top stories after the July 4th holiday weekend.

See for yourself, several websites have posted the same pictures and photos of the belly tattoo.US Magazine posted the pic here on their website. The story even mentioned how "famously clean-cut" Reese appears to be. So the new belly or stomach tattoo appears to be at least somewhat shocking to writers who cover her every move in Hollywood. TooFab also posted what appears to be the same pic of that now infamous tattoo. This story says that Reese has added what appears to be two birds to an original star tattoo on her belly. X17 also had pictures of the most recent tattoo witha story that called Reese "rebellious."

Does the new ink mean anything other than Reese just wanted to add a new tattoo? It seems when famous celebrities add ink these days that sometimes bloggers and writers begin to believe they are showing off a rebellious side. I have always been of the opinion that it's just a tattoo! It doesn't really change her image in my mind but I guess there is a school of thought out there that ink means Reese has the potential of being a "bad" or "rebellious" person.

With the amount of Hollywood stars getting ink these days, I would have to say that any such tattoos from this point forward shouldn't really be all that shocking. It's becoming simply a small fashion statement when celebs opt to add ink. It's such a huge trend now that it's not easy to keep up with which celebs have tattoos and which don't. Reese is just another celeb in a long line of famous people who have opted to go that direction. In other words, it's just a tattoo--it doesn't make her any more "bad" or any less "good." It's unfortunate there's a literal branding that goes along with tattoos. My interpretation is that many people get ink because they want to change things up a bit and do something adventurous-but it doesn't neccessarily mean a great deal.

Maybe Reese is the subject of criticism or surprise because she has always seemed to portray such an innocent image. The only problem is that so many people are getting tattoos these days that it seems to be the norm as opposed to the wild and risky.

Whether Reese has a belly tattoo or not won't affect her ability to be a good parent, good actor or a good role model. All it says is that Reese wanted a little ink-and apparently she got it.
