Ref Knocks Jay Cutler's Helmet Off During Clutch Drive

Chris Houston
Jay Cutler had just marched the Chicago Bears down the field in what could be a defining moment. Cutler, who struggled in his first week with the Bears by throwing four interceptions, had just helped Chicago get into field goal territory with an outstanding clutch drive. It was his moment. A moment that could define his career in Chicago.

Only one problem, as Cutler is walking off the field in exchange for the field goal squad, a referee hits Cutler right in the helmet. Cutler, who had his helmet half off, dropped the helmet behind his back and somehow caught it. It was like a magic trick and it evoked a sheepish grin from Cutler even during one of the most tense moments of an NFL game. The ref didn't mean to hit Cutler as he was stopping the clock with wide arms much like you would direct an airplane into a hangar. Or much like the scenes from "Airplane" when the guy directed the Airplane into the crowded facility. It was a rare football comedic bliss moment.

Although there's only one problem right now. Everything these days seems to be on YouTube. But I can't find the video of the incident. It's amazing that such a funny and priceless moment, which should be turned into a television commercial if anyone were quick enough to capitalize on it, is nowhere to be found.

Here's an NFL quarterback who gets conked by a ref and no one is talking about the next day. The ref doesn't hit Jay Cutler in the fact but nearly does. He instead hits the helmet and that's when Jay Cutler makes on terrific catch behind his back on his helmet. Hopefully someone can upload the video to YouTube as soon as possible because this needs to go viral! For all of us who enjoy the lighter side of sports and a moment when the game isnt taken too seriously for once!
