Refinish Worn Out Bath Tub Quick and Easy Steps

This project is going to leave you without a bath tub for at least two days! Be prepared for this job so you don't realize oh no what do I do now? With this time in our economy the bathtub is really some thing you should think about fixing do to the fact it is a big selling factor in any house. Not that I am telling you to sell your house but this quick fix can make you more money then you think.

1. First remove all overflow covers and fixtures. This is probably the most easiest step out of all remember how everything goes back on!

2. Take time masking around the bath tub and areas you don't want refinished, Also place plastic over sinks toilet, fixtures basically everything that might get paint on it. I stress most of all take time on this step.

3. Remove any dirt and caulking around the bathtub. Clean, Clean, Clean you need to have it dried and dirt free before you move on to any other steps.

4. Get a heavy duty fan for ventilation so you don't breathe anything harmful to your lungs that can make you very sick. Open windows and bring fresh air in the room. This might be a project best for a warm day.

5. Take time and sand the entire bathtub lightly. Again take time and do this the right way after all its not some thing you have to do every day.

6. Take a high power vacuum out the bathtub, Any wear and tear on the bath tub this is your chance to fill them and sand smooth,

7. Spray paint 4 coats of primer and let dry. Take time on this also!

8. Once dried spray another 4 layers of top coat mixture.

Bathtub should be ready around 48 hours. You can change the color or keep it original please visit your local hardware store for the right tools and any other questions you might have.
