Reflections After Writing for Associated Content for Three Months

Steven Moneyworth
In two days, I'll have been writing for Associated Content for three months. It's hard to believe it's been that long, but it has been. In this article, I'm going to provide an analysis of my time on Associated Content up to this point.

I wrote one of these before, at the 1.5 month point. One of the things I wrote about in that article was that I felt as if I were addicted to Associated Content. At this point, I feel as if my relationship with Associated Content is much healthier. I still produce quite a bit of content, but I don't obsess about doing so. Likewise, I don't worry about money so much right now. I recognize that everything I write is part of a long term investment towards a residual income, so that helps me keep things in perspective.

Right now I'm nearing Clout 7. I'm working on publishing a lot of content so as to expedite this process. I've also been marketing more vigorously. I have about 250 followers on Twitter. One needs to look at this figure with a grain of salt, as maybe one-third or one-quarter of the people that follow me are real. However, I have been able to meet and communicate with some very nice CPs as a result of using Twitter as a marketing tool. Likewise, I've found Twitter to be effective in its purpose.

My average number of daily page views has been holding steady at about 260 page views per day, and over the past four days my number of daily page views has increased steadily. This is likely a reflection of the fact that I've been marketing my content more actively. As I mentioned before, my end goal for Associated Content is to have a monthly residual income of perhaps $60 to $100. Assuming that I reach Clout 10 by the time that happens, I would need 30,000 to 50,000 monthly page views for that to happen.

My only concern going into the future is that I'm finding it more difficult to think of ideas for content. I'm sure that this happens to every Content Producer that writes for Associated Content with any frequency, and I'm sure that I'll continue to be able to think of new ideas for articles.

I've enjoyed my time writing for Associated Content and was fortunate enough to win Best New Source for May '09. I would consider my time writing for Associated Content to have been a very positive experience, and I would recommend Associated Content to anyone wishing to make a small residual income.
