Refrigerator Blues for Most of Us

The ice-cube trays are full, but lonely in the freezer.

Four potatoes in the crisper are nothing but a teaser.

This-and-that condiments rattle on the shelves.

I close the fridge door; there is no reason to delve.

I do wish the cupboards hid foodstuffs to raid.

My stomach is demanding and its six days 'til I'm paid.
