Refund or Request: Buying Face Moisturizing Products That Work

Veronica
A few years back I was working for the mouse. That's what cast members say that work for the Walt Disney Company- I work for the mouse, or change any time you would say boss to mouse. For example instead of 'The boss wants us to work over time...' it was 'the mouse wants us to work over time.' Anyway, I digress. I was working for the mouse on a college program and one of my roommates told me to try her moisturizing lotion. I had complained that my face was normal in parts and real dry in others so if I used one product it would dry me out even more or another would make me oily. She told me her dad was a doctor and that he suggested a Clean & Clear product that was medicated for her to use. She also told me she thought it would work for me too. She was right... I wanted to swear by this product it was so good to me. But I stopped using it. Why? Well, after I went back to college a friend of mine graduated that following year and she began working for Johnson & Johnson, the company that owned the Clean & Clear products. When I talked to her again she told me about how she'd found out her company had something to do with worshiping the devil. She'd quit working for the company in behind that information. It scared me so bad I stopped using that product. Funny thing is I did not know for sure where the 'rumor' came from, if it was true or not and most likely I'd bought other Johnson & Johnson products since there are so many under it's parent company.

Years later I realized I was buying other products related to the Clean & Clear company so that 'afraid of the devil' mentality had gone. I figured, what was it that I was afraid of anyway, plus Neutrogena and Clean & Clear products are great. At least they work great for my skin- I love them. This past year I bought two Clean & Clear products but started to suffer break outs like the one I had in the past with another product I tried from Bath & Body Works. There was no visible damage but the burning skin on my face was undeniable. When that happened to me from using the Aroma- products at Bath & Body Works I took the products to one of the stores and they gladly gave me store credit then recommended other products. I was excited about that- the Aroma-products were a gift to me with no gift receipt and I thought I was stuck with them. But that was such a positive experience that I'd hoped for the same results with this other company. So this time I called the Johnson & Johnson Company and hoped for the same nice and easy response. The way they handled it was ask me about the product, what happened when I used it, how long I've had it, how long had I been using it and told me they were sending me a refund. What happened with the product? I could simply toss it or give it away. It was virtually new, I'd bought two of the same product (since I had a good experience from using other's in it's line in the past) and only used it for about two weeks.

About a month later I still had the product and had not replaced my facial cleaning product yet. I was desperate for more face cleaning product and refused to use body soap on my face so I took a chance knowing the consequences and used the Clean & Clear product. This time there was no outbreak. To this day I have no idea of why or what caused the outbreak-burning skin when I first purchased the product. I felt bad since by then the company had given me the refund. In fact I'd received the refund about two weeks prior to my desperate use of the product. So, what do you do when you've received a refund in error? Well, I simply went out and spent more money on the same name brand. I was thankful knowing that if I ever experienced a problem with a product from this company I could simply call customer support for assistance. Furthermore they told me to talk to a dermatologist about what I could be allergic to for future reference. It all turned out a happy ending.

I learned, if it works it works.
