Americans May Register Online for Home Study Degrees

MEL
The University of South Africa, or UNISA, has opened up their exciting list of college majors to students in North America to earn their degree from a home study program. You may register directly with UNISA in South Africa where the fees are in the Rand, and when converted to U.S. dollars, comes out to as little as $199 per year. But, the easier way to register is through their satellite office in Canada, which charges a higher fee for convenience, yet remains under $4,000 for the complete three year undergraduate degree.Though prices are rock bottom, don't be fooled by the discount, it's no reflection on quality. This prestigious university is committed to making education affordable for students around the world, with one fixed pricetag, making it the lowest cost option for Americans.

The South African university system is much like it's British academia counterpart that forgoes the general education requirements. All courses will be directly associated with the student's major, achieving the bachelor's degree in three years, rather than four. There are no math or science courses unless related to the degree program. Some Master's programs are unique in that they do not require individual classes to take, but, rather, the student will submit a research and dissertation paper similar to that of doctorial work. The advantage to the student is that the paper constitutes 100% of the grade and may be completed in just one year. The UNISA Ph.D program is similar, and may also be achieved in record time.

Besides unbeatable tuition fees, UNISA is praised for it's diversity with majors and the option for the student to start with their favorite discipline and carry it through to the Ph.D level. This is true not only with science majors, but also with the foreign language degrees. Example: a student may start at the bachelor's level with zero ability in Russian, and in 5 years have earned a doctorate in that language, qualifying him or her for university teaching credentials. Other favorite languages include Arabic, Hebrew, German, Spanish and more.

UNISA offers hundreds of majors, many of which are not commonly found in the States. Examinations are held at official UNISA testing facilities and are plentiful across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Check the exam center link to find one near you. In addition, this list of test centers is rapidly growing, making it easier every year to attend one. The one-time registration fee is $140, made payable to IACI in Canada.

After registration, the student will choose their coursework and declare the pace they prefer to set as full-time or part-time status. Admission requirements from U.S. students are a high school diploma or GED certificate. For students who do not wish to travel to a designated testing facility, try the University of London's degree program, wherein exams are scheduled at your local library. The UOL program, like UNISA, is a deeply discounted degree from an internationally acclaimed institution.
