Regrets, Billy Ray Cyrus Has a Few

The Country Singer Says 'Hannah Montana' Ruined His Family

Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus has gone on record to say that he regrets ever getting his daughter Miley involved in the Disney series, "Hannah Montana."

Cyrus, whose single "Achy Breaky Heart" hit the charts in the early 1990s, starred alongside his then-tween daughter on the hit Disney show and for a few years they both enjoyed a spot in the limelight. But it's a move that he says has destroyed his family.

In the March issue of GQ Magazine, Cyrus' own heart sounds a big achy breaky as he details the demise of his daughter's once squeaky clean image, which includes racy videos and recent footage of her smoking a bong of the hallucinogen, salvia. Cyrus and his wife of 18 years, Tish, are also headed for divorce. It has not been a good year for the Cyrus family.

Rewind to a few years back, in 2008, when Billy Ray and then still-innocent Miley appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in a tween-friendly episode that also featured the unveiling of that year's American Girl doll.

At the time, Billy Ray Cyrus sat down with the Queen of Talk to talk about raising a positive role model. And Miley told Oprah that the reason she stayed so grounded was because of her family.

"No one messes with me and my family," she said.

But now that Miley is 18-years old, times have changed. According to the GQ article, Billy Ray Cyrus feels like an outsider in his daughter's world, a world which is dominated by her "handlers."

He also admits, "I'm scared for her. She's got a lot of people around her that's putting her in a great deal of danger."

Meanwhile all has been quiet on the Miley front for now- although she does have a cameo in the new Justin Bieber flick "Never Say Never," where she duets with the baby faced teen idol.

"But now that Miley is 18-years old, times have changed"? What? Her times changed years ago while her "grounded" family let her run wild and do those kiddie-porn music videos and worse. Regrets? He shouldn't have regrets - he should have a jail sentence!
