What is Reiki?
It is a precise system of healing which is believed to have originated in Tibet thousands of years ago. It accesses universal life force energy. This energy is also known as prana, mana, chi, Holy Spirit and God Source, in which it helps promote healing in all living things on the physical, mental , emotional and spiritual levels. The Reiki (pronounced "ray-kee") Master and Reiki Practitioner are channels of facilitators for this healing energy.
Reiki defined.
The work "Rei" as it is used in Reiki is interpreted to mean knowledge of spiritual consciousness which is all knowing. "Ki" is the life force. It is also called the vital life force or the universal life force. This is the non-physical energy (also recognized as the electromagnetic energy) that animates, circulates and surrounds all living things. If there is a restriction in the flow of one's Ki a vulnerability to illness occurs. When it is high and flowing freely, better physical and mental health is experienced. Life force plays an important role in everything we do. It animates the body and is the primary energy of our emotions, thoughts and spiritual life.
Reiki is considered alternative or complimentary healing, holistic therapy, natural healing and natural touch and is used in holistic health and alternative medicine.
How does Reiki heal?
Life force (electromagnetic energy) flows within the physical body through pathways called chakras, meridians and/or nadir. Science has shown these pathways or meridians ran along the same lines that our nervous system did in our original formation in the womb. We are alive because of this life force. It flows even beyond the body in a field of energy called the "Aura", nourishing the organs and cells of the body as it supports them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished functions in the organs and tissues of the physical body. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging there with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body causing the negative energy to break apart and fall away, or simply balance. In doing so, Reiki clears, straightens and helps to heal the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
How can Reiki be used?
I am going to make this simple. Reiki can be used for everything and anything that needs healing. That can be physical, mental, spiritual or emotional; past, present and future. You can and should use your intuition for using Reiki.
Reiki is both powerful and gentle. In its long history of use it has aided in healing virtually every known illness and injury including serious problems like: multiple sclerosis, heart disease, cancer, -as well as flu, skin problems, cuts, bruises, broken bones, headaches, colds, sore throat, sunburn, fatigue, insomnia, impotence, poor memory, and lack of confidence; Reiki is beneficial and even works to improve the effectiveness of all other types of therapy.
A treatment feels wonderful and rejuvenating; it even encouraged many benefits including altered states of consciousness and spiritual experiences for some people. Reiki will help improve the results of all medical treatments, acting to reduce negative side effects, shorten healing time, reduce or help eliminate pain and stress. It is a powerful system of healing as a facilitator of the universal life force and Holy Spirit.
Is Reiki a religion?
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion or cult. It has not dogma and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn to use Reiki or receive the benefits. Reiki works with all religions and beliefs.
Some insurance companies accept for massage therapy or other services; however each individual or family would need to check with your private insurance to verify if any alternative or complimentary therapy, including Reiki, would be covered. Some insurance policies require a referral by your primary care physician to a Certified Practitioner for your services to be covered. May your days be filled with health, wellness and peace.
