One effective use of a "take-away" is to approach your prospect looking for advice on who they might know that would be a good referral for your business opportunity.
There's a possibility ask them this, they might interrupt and say, "Hey, what about me?!!" If this happens, you now have permission to invite them to take a look at what you have to offer. Don't try to sell them at this point. Just invite them to listen to a sizzle call or conference call, or direct them to your website, etc.
Here's a great example of a "take-away:"
"Hi Becky, I hope I'm not interrupting anything. Did I catch you at a good time?"
"I'm calling because I need your help. I'm working on recruiting new team members for my business. I didn't think this would really be something that you would be interested in, but I thought you could give me some ideas or referrals."
The company I work with is called ____________________, and I am looking for people that would like to join my team and work with me. I'm looking for people that are serious about improving their financial situation. I want partners that are very sharp & professional, motivated and fun to work with; that like to travel, have computer skills, and that have a desire to create unlimited residual income for life...Who do you know that fits that description?"
If they do not interrupt or ask you to tell them more about your project, that's fine, just get a few referrals, thank them for their time and move on. This works well because one of the first things you tell them is "I didn't think you would be interested..." This eliminates sales pressure because in their mind, you are just asking for advice, and not trying to commit them to do something. Remember, this acts as a "take-away." When do people want things the most? When they can't have it! They will feel left out and wonder why you didn't think of them.
Good luck with your prospecting!
