Relationship with a Mail Order Bride

Sondra C
Mail Order Brides are a great way to meet someone from another country. There are many things to learn before you start. The fastest way is to ask questions, search on the Internet and decide on what country you would like her to be living in. Each country has their own accent, skin coloring and way of living.

I wondered if these relationships work and so I asked a friend of mine. He had experience in searching for his potential Mail Order Bride and this is what he did.

He selected the country and connected with a Mail Order Bride agency. He paid about $ 5,000 for the initial meeting. He remained in the country a few months or as long as it took to meet a few eligible women and their families. This trip was repeated many times; in various country's. Each time he came home disappointed but never gave up. Eventually he met a woman, fell in love and met her family. He remained for a few months and her family approved of the match. They married and he brought his Mail Order Bride back to his Florida home. I met her and she was absolutely lovely.

Methods to Find a Mail Order Bride

1. Be sure you fully understand the United States rules and regulations of bringing a bride into the country.

2. Decide upon the country you prefer the bride to live in and connect with a dating service that handles Mail Order Brides. If the language spoken is different, ask for a translator.

3. Join an online site called matchmakers to meet women from other countries. They charge a fee to matching you via email with mail order brides.

4. Place an ad in the local newspapers of the country you selected, to advertise for a mail order bride. Establish a few online contacts with others in the country who might help. It could be a local church, school or agency. Try to make friends. They might have a cousin, friend or daughter that you might like to meet.

5. Visit and tour the country by yourself. If you wanted to meet someone in this country, you would walk the malls, dine out by yourself, go to the library or the supermarket and look around to find someone that catches your eye. Do the same in the foreign country.

Be sure that what the woman tells you is true. There are many women who want to move to the United States so badly that they will tell you anything they think you want to hear. Then they get their green card, spend your money and walk out. . Be cautious when you try to meet your Mail Order Bride by yourself. Good luck on your mission..

I just don't understand how people manage with mail order spouses. It's hard enough getting along and staying in love with someone they've known for years; how do you make it work with someone you don't even know? It'd be very challenging.

Mail ordering one like in Taming of the Shrew, would be an interesting challenge.

Sometimes those arranged marriages work nicely, sometimes not so well. Intriguing that the concept is still so popular!

Very interesting! Wrap her up in cellophane and send her to me! That's how I used to feel about this, till I found my soulmate in CA, far enough away and like a foreign country to me!

Interesting, Sondra. I don't know anyone who has done this.
