Relax Your Mind Through Dhyana Practice

Taru Mehta
The human mind is the origin of all the happiness and sorrows of the human life. The person can be very happy or very sad, just based upon the condition of his mind. If we think whatever happens in our life is for our good in long run, the sorrows would vanish from all our lives. All our desires are born in our mind. And when we fulfill one desire, the second desire would come and thus, there will not be any end to such desires. Our entire life passes away in fulfilling such desires. In spite of that, we still remain unhappy at the time of our death, thinking that so many of our desires have still remained unfulfilled. Hence, the best option for all of us is to keep our mind in control so that more and more desires do not originate in our mind. The best way to attain mind control is to perform Dhyana. Just as we all need some vacation in life every year, our minds also need such vacations to relax. Our bodies do get some break while we sleep, but our mind do not get any type of rest even during our sleep as our subconscious mind still keeps on working while we sleep. The best way to give vacation to our minds is through Dhyana.

There are some basic prerequisites for performing Dhyana. The place for Dhyana must be clean, airy and free of all types of disturbances. It is advisable to maintain same place for performing Dhyana as far as possible. The best time for Dhyana is Brahm muhurata. Brahma muhurata starts from two and a half hours before sunrise and ends at sunrise. Dhyana is also beneficial if performed before going to bed at night after taking a shower. One should adopt most comfortable posture while performing Dhyana like Padhmasana, or Sukhasana. Always sit erect and straight without any stress or tension in your body. All the body movements must remain suspended during Dhyana. However, the most essential factor is performing it with a meticulous regularity without even a break of single day.

There are many ways of performing Dhyana. The best ways out of all these are through pranayama and thoughts removal process. The Dhyana through pranayama can be practiced by constantly observing your breathing process. The slow and deep breaths with mind totally engrossed on it would help in practicing Dhyana. The concentration of mind on the breathing would automatically remove all the thoughts from your mind. The other way of performing Dhyana is through the thoughts removing process. Initially, let any thought come to your mind. Then, remove that thought from your mind. Let another thought come. Remove it again in the same way. In the same way, go on removing all the thoughts that keep on coming to your mind thinking that you are sweeping out your mind by removing all its dirt. Never press your self for not getting any thoughts. Just concentrate on removing thoughts that come to your mind one by one. You will observe your mind to be stable, peaceful, calm, and empty after the practice of Dhyana for around fifteen days.

Dhyana has many benefits to offer. The persons suffering from insomnia and lack of self-confidence get cured very fast. The Dhyana is the best for those who get agitated very easily. It also helps in your anger management. It cures high blood pressure very effectively. The worldly sorrows would not affect us if we perform Dhyana regularly. When our body is given an anesthetic, it does not have any pain. Similarly, the Dhyana is the anesthetic for your mind and brain. The mind remains in your control by Dhyana and you do not run after fulfilling each and every desire created in your mind. Dhyana is the best for people working in a very high position. It would remove the stress from their regular life and would help them in taking quick and right decisions.

It must however be remembered that control over the mind cannot be achieved so easily. One has to practice Dhyana for months together with full trust and confidence to get maximum benefits. Each and every individual must allot at least 10 minutes for performing Dhyana daily without any break to enjoy all the benefits as narrated.
