A basic day trip to use the pool, sauna and steam room might just be enough to make your mother feel pampered, but if she requires something extra special, the list of treatments is endless. Alongside the usual facials and massages, Bedruthan offers something you won't find in any other Cornish spa. Hammam therapy is a special kind of treatment which is given on a heated stone bed. I highly recommend the Traditional Hammam Scrub and Wrap which exfoliates the skin leaving it silky smooth. It costs £64 ($107) for just under an hour, but it is totally worth it!

St. Michael's Hotel and Spa

St. Michael's is the perfect place for an ocean loving mother to visit for the weekend. Both the heated pool and the restaurant give amazing views out to sea, as do some of the higher priced hotel rooms. Day packages are available, but in comparison to some of the other Cornish spas, there is better value in a three night break. The Three Wishes Spa Break offers full use of the spa facilities, Cornish breakfasts every morning and three thirty minute treatments. There are five treatments to choose from with this package, including an Indian Head Massage and a Cornish Body Polish.

Fistral Spa

Newquay is one of the hottest surfing spots in Cornwall, but for your mother, it could be a place to unwind. The best thing about the Fistral Spa is that it has a day package for every need. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I like their Relax Day treatment which includes a body wrap, scalp massage and a body brush. Other packages available include Uplift Day, Energise Day and Detox Day. Prices start at £75 ($125) and go up to £150 ($250). Each day package includes a welcome drink, a two course lunch, use of the steam room and sauna and much more.
