Release the Outcome

Day 4 - a Year with God

Marilyn Quinn
Part of giving your troubles over to God is releasing the outcome. You have to rid yourself of that picture of how you think things should look and allow God to work in your life.

You aren't really letting go if you continue to stew and worry about it once you lift it up in prayer. Give it to God and be in acceptance that he will bring into your life the situations, people and experiences that you are supposed to have.

Easier said than done for most of us. So, how do you let it go and stop worrying? I haven't completely mastered that myself yet. I know it takes practice. I have to continually be mindful of my thoughts and be in the word and listen to good things. State of mind have a lot to do with it. You have to also have trust and have faith in God and know that he wants only the best for you. That has got to come with experience.

Sometimes we are blessed in unexpected ways and if we are so busy focusing on the form we want our blessing to take, we can miss out on what is being given to us. Just as I wrote previously, I agonized so long over something I had lost that I wasn't seeing the many blessings I had in front of me every day. I wasn't being grateful for what I had. Being grateful for all life's blessings is key to being in a receptive state.

As I have heard quoted by author and speaker, Andy Andrews; "The seeds of depression cannot take root in a grateful heart." He goes on to say your attitude is what affords you opportunities. If we are worried and stressed and downtrodden, then we are sending that out into the world. You will get less opportunities because no one will want to be around you and you will repel the very people that are there to manifest things in your life.

We can block the blessings we so desperately want by putting up those types of roadblocks. Be grateful, be confident that great things are coming, be positive that God is working in your life and great things will come to you.

"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." Helen Keller
