Religion: Curse or Blessing?

Justin
Jihad means a war in the name of religion. In the Middle East, it is common knowledge that Americans sit on their lazy, fat bottoms and make a hypocracy out of there own religion. The people that follow the religion of Mohammed kill in the peaceful God's name because they do not like how things are going in their country. Looking back in history, I look at all the dominating religions and how the oppressed were murdered in the name of some God and I ask myself "Is this the religion that my parents and everyone preaches around to love thy killer?".Yet, they turn around and oppress and kill the antagonists.

Religion in my eyes is just an excuse to say that our people are more special than yours because we have a god that loves us. So, the other side feeling left out says that their god is better and loves them more so your god is false. That leads to arguing and fighting and when the civilization is strong enough then that means a dang good reason to attack and increase the size of there followers and country. Ultimately, that means more money.

Religion, however, is not always bad. When the land was young, people died a lot. It gave them hope in the face of despair and it gave laws to a lawless country. Unfortunately, in my opinion, religion is outdated. It is time for humanity to look to themselves and not at heaven for their answers to moral dilemmas and it is also time for humanity to blame the wrongs of the world on religion or in the name of religion to go to fight for that sake.

I look to the people and I say "Open your eyes. There is no one who communes with a god. There is no one to hear prayers and turn to the person closest to you." I am my own person and I am free from the obligation of heaven and hell. I do not have to conform to the hypocracy of the church. I am my own temple and my own god. I control my existence, I am responsible for my rights and wrongs, and most importantly I am free to be myself as I see it. I do not see myself as a standard of the crowd at the moment.

In conclusion, instead of fighting for what is right, we fight for a being who is imaginary and scripture that was captured by the minds of men; whose followers give one loaf of bread out in one hand and takes two in the other. Know that in your heart of hearts, it is not a god, it is a gene saying provide for others to increase the size of the community. As a side note, religion has produced some really good people who have helped a struggling humanity in its early years. Religion was a blessing and now it is a curse.

Organized Religion always has its pros and its cons. Religion itself is not the problem its the people who are in control of there religion gain economic and political power this power corrupts and controls society to their wishes except for the few who rise up in the name of freedom! Most die but those who do not stand up to say or do anything at all are ignorant and Ignorance is what these people feed on! Also, the other problem is extremist who are so ignorant they do these outlandish things in the name of there own religion when there own religion does not even except it!
