Remember History

Beaten. Bludgeoned. Lynched.

It didn't matter what was the crime

Or if there was a crime at all.

The only time that blackness mattered.

I see our black people shrink in fear,

Cower and become compliant.

Now the crimes committed are illegal.

They have always been immoral, unholy.

My children do not remember those times

So we teach them the good the bad and the ugly.

They are learning the history.

Let's not repeat it.
