Remembering Dad

The Spirit of a Loving Dad Never Dies

Memmay2
The sky should have split wide open
spilling it's cloudy tears for you.

We wouldn't have felt so alone
had the angels joined us too.

The sun shined down as if to boast of
the perfect golfing day.

Instead of putting on the green
you slowly slipped away.

You never asked for much in life or
wanted for the moon.

You always gave more than you got
and still were gone too soon.

Your family was your life and
you always put us first.

The hardest part in losing you
was watching Mom's heart burst.

The early years without you
were hard to say the least.

Eventually we marveled at the
beauty of the feast

You lived life as if it were a
banquet and you but a guest.

Whatever you shared with others
was always your very best.

The spirit of your father love and
presence lingers on

Such a man as you may pass but
you're never truly gone.

I Love You Dad,
Happy Father's Day

XO Yvette
