Often birds like to have added oil and easy to find bird seed whenever they can, but colder weather can mean bird seed is a lifesaver. Use bird seed instead of rice to cheer on the bride and groom. But do it somewhere where the mess won't be noticed.

Not all decorations require fresh flowers. Using vegetables with deeper colors like purple squash or nutty browns allow the bride to wear her cowboy boots and the groom to wear his plaids with ease. Don't be shy when you choose your fall wedding colors, jeweled floral tones, golden wheat or grasses and a fiddler makes your fall wedding merry. Autumn is the time of year when dark comes earlier every day. I loved the flicker of candles on the tables and at the front reflected nicely off the floor to ceiling windows where we held our wedding. We held ours in the afternoon and could cut costs by having less formal wear.

Harvest time weddings in the autumn can be every bit as special as other times of year, just make sure that you plan for rain as well as sunshine.
