Patrick Swayze died on Monday, September 14, 2009. He was 57 years old. He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2008 and was not expected to live a year. But because of his strong will and determination he lived for almost two years.

Patrick Swayze was a wonderful actor and dancer. He made many memorable movies in his lifetime. The very first movie that he ever made was "Skatetown USA" in 1979.

The movies that really brought Patrick Swayze to our attention and put him in our hearts were "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost". He had such a wonderful talent for being able to bring his characters to life while grabbing the attention of his audiences.

Other very good movies that Patrick Swayze acted in were "The Outsiders", "Road House", and "To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar".

The last acting job that Patrick Swayze had was on the new cable show called "The Beast". He played an FBI agent. While he was working on this series he was taking treatments for cancer and was very ill.

Patrick Swayze was a very strong person and was someone that would never give up on anything, no matter how bad things got. He was a very positive and take control person that loved life. This attitude is what comes across on the movie screen as well. And that is what made him so loved by his fans.

There were two people that were the most important people in Patrick Swayze's life. They were his wife Lisa Niemi and his mother who is dance choreographer Patsy Swayze. He shared his love of the outdoors and life with his wife at their beautiful ranch and he shared his love of dancing with his mother who taught him the art.

Patrick Swayze did have some personal struggles in his life and was able to take control over those things and move forward. But still all of his accomplishments out weighed any of those things. As he moved forward he continued to do what he loved which was acting. He did this to the very end.

Life was good to Patrick Swayze and his ability to connect with his fans through his movies really says it all.

Patrick Swayze will be greatly missed by his fans all over the world. He came into our hearts in the 1980's and never left. His memory will go on through his movies.
