Remembering Unconditional Love

Dusti Sparks-Myers
The ferrets demand the touch of the old woman's caresses,
As they climb up with anticipation of unconditional love.
And dally in the comfort of her touching strokes.
And, they never question those velvet embraces.

The old woman adds her tears to poignant caresses,
As she delves into her life's sun-setting past promises.
Her heart still aches for her husband's nighttime touches,
As the night calls forth the memory of past embraces.

While the ferrets need those loving, swirling kisses and touches.
The desire continues to rise for pleasurable and inquisitive antics.
Still, the old woman holds sway on the embraces of dark, masked fur,
Never wanting to let go of loving, visible friends.

Yet, the tunnels and toys offer better war-dancing fun.
A pool of water offers a sunshine of velvet touching.
And, while the old woman leaves a trail of saddened tears,
The water quickly calls forth fuzzies' snorkeling exhilaration.

Dancing, they play with the joyfulness of cagemate thrills.
When a hammock calls forth the promise of sleepy swings.
The hammock rocks with cuddled ferrets quietly dooking.
And, cuddled-close ferrets dream of entrancing amusements.

The outside wind muffles crying - the old woman's memories exposed,
As this lost traveler of ancient times pines for unnamed caresses.
The hammock sways with the excitement of dark time fun, nose to nose.
The ferrets sleep as the night dwells on an old woman's recollections.

The stars shine magnificently in the old woman's dreamings.
As the ferrets quest forth for ecstatic imaginings of their own.
Awakened again - the ferrets search for brand new adventures.
A fresh beginning as the morning brings forth a brand new day.

Is this the same old woman who lost her house in the other poem? I'm worried for this old woman --at least she has loving ferrets!
