My life's been up and down, a rocky range
Of ecstasy and pain -- I've had my share!
But never have I seen affairs so strange
As how betraying love can bring despair.
Of ecstasy and pain -- I've had my share!
But never have I seen affairs so strange
As how betraying love can bring despair.
The fits of sad remorse must be the curse
Of those who use their love to hurt their friends.
The tide of sin created does reverse
And brings to us a grief that never ends.
We search for something to erase the pain --
Strong drink, erotic love we find anew,
But nothing potent to remove the stain.
The sun is gone and colors have no hue.
Even love can't mend like joyful sleep
And death's the finer grace to those who weep.
