Remote Control Planes - Park Flyers

Many people have dreamed about flying since they were children. However, for most of these people they never will due to financial or other reasons. This being said many of these people either give up on their dreams or forget about them all together but a select few turn to remote control aircraft. While this does not give the controller the same thrill and risk factor of flying thousands of feet above the earth, it does allow some thrill in performing high risk maneuvers without any of the life risks a pilot would normally face. In fact, many pilots fly remote control aircraft in their spare time as a hobby. There are a variety of different remote control aircraft on the market today all with specific advantages and disadvantages. Most people today do not have access to large wide open spaces with plenty of visibility and places to land their remote control aircraft. For this reason remote control aircraft designers designed a remote control aircraft called a park flyer.

Park Flyers generally are small remote control aircraft powered by electric. As their name suggests remote control park flyers are designed to be flown in parks. These can range from baseball fields, soccer fields, or any other large open space. For this reason they are the most popular type of remote control aircraft among the average hobbyist. One disadvantage to park flyers is that they are generally much slower than many other types of remote control aircraft. This means that even the slightest of winds can ruin a good day of remote control flying. Many of these park flyers cannot be flown if there is any wind at all. However, there is an advantage to their slow speed. The slow speed allows some park flyers to be flown within gymnasiums or even large rooms within a house.

Another advantage to park flyers is that most of these remote control aircraft come ready-to-fly. This means they require hardly any assembly and can be flown straight out of the box. Also, advances in materials have made even the most basic remote control park flyers stronger and easier to repair then ever before. For these reasons park flyer's are perfect for beginner hobbyists who understand the basic pilot controls required to fly a remote control aircraft.

Be sure to read your specific model specifications on the park flyer, since while most are slow and docile, there are a few park flyers that can reach faster speeds. These faster speeds may pose a safety problem depending on the size of your flight area.
