Remove Click Potato

Click Potato is Fraudulent or Malicious Software, it Needs Removing!

The Portland Journal
There is a not-so newcomer on the block making moves on laptops and computers all over the world, this little guy is called Click Potato and it is causing major problems.

Click Potato needs to be avoided by users who are surfing the Web to watch movies online, especially if internet users are visiting one of the fraudulent Websites that offer up free online moves or links to films.

Click Potato is an Adware, Malware and Spyware type program, which is deceptively installed on a user's computer via pretending to be a movie player codec. If you have done this recently you may be experiences problems such as:

• A changed home screen.

• Pop-up advertisements

• Fake Anti-Virus Installs

• Website re-directs which could be malicious.

• Your own Anti-Virus disabled or acting weird.

• Boot up problems.

Removing Click Potato

It is important to know that the malicious program Click Potato can be removed, you can try to remove all the dll files and registry keys yourself, but there is a much simpler way to delete the offender and its little Trojan's.

First off if you are having a problem with fake Anti-Virus software at boot, do not worry, just do not purchase any anti-virus software from its vendor. Just continue until you get to your startup screen. You may have to click continue unprotected with certain fake anti-virus programs until you get to your start up screen, having allowed the software to run.

Once you have done this you need to install Malware Bytes for free, search out free Malware Bytes Anti-Virus and install it.

If you are unable to connect to the internet because of fake software or a lurking virus then you must use another computer and download Malware Bytes to a disk, then return to your computer and install it.

Once installed run Malware Bytes, it will begin removing any malicious software and Trojans that may be stopping you from using your computer. Once it has finished make sure you clear all your browsing history, cookies etc from your Temporary Internet Files folder. You do this by clicking on 'Tools', 'Internet Options' or 'Options' and clearing from there.

This should have cleared the problem of Click Potato, if you still have an issue the problem may lie deeper than just Click Potato alone, and a visit to your local computer technician could be the best option for you.
