Remove Easter Egg Dye Stains from Hands Just like You Would with Hair Color or Food Dye

Each Easter you have the fun and enjoyment of dying/coloring eggs, but what happens when everything else gets colored too? Yes, this does happen. Just because you cover yourself up and put on a pair of coloring gloves, don't think for one second the dye can't soak through and stain your hands. Or better yet, nobody is paying attention and just keep on dipping the egg, meanwhile the dye dripped onto the carpet, kitchen floor, or your favorite pair of jeans. Now what?

No need to panic, there are several ways to remove Easter egg dye from all these problems. I tell you from experience, the red dye is the hardest to remove from hands, and clothing. It's just like red hair coloring or red food dye. It soaks in very quickly into fabrics and skin.

Vinegar And Baking Soda Mixture

Vinegar is used for hundreds of household chores. It makes household items fresh and clean, and great for disinfecting and removing harsh stains. To remove Easter egg dye from hands, dip hands into a bowl of vinegar. Soak for 3-5 minutes. Remove hands, wipe down, and now place some baking soda into the bowl.

Allow the hands to soak for 2-3 minutes. Then remove and scrub with towel. Most of the dye should be gone by now.

Sugar And Lemon

With this method the sugar acts like a scrub, while the lemon's acid helps break down the color pigment. Super for removing tough black hair dye too.

You will need a bowl, lemon juice (from real lemon or bottle), and a toothbrush.

In a small dessert bowl place some sugar. Now massage your hands into the sugar. Scrub them good together. Take a toothbrush and go back and forth onto the egg dye stain. The brush will help loosen up the dye on the skin. Rinse off with warm water, and towel dry.

Place the lemon juice onto the hands and allow it to soak for 10 minutes. Wipe off and rinse.

Dish Detergent With An SOS Scrubbing Pad

This Easter egg dye remover is one of the easiest. Take a SOS soap pad and wet it throughly. Place a drop of liquid detergent onto the pad and lightly scrub the egg dye stain. You do not have to scrub vigorously.

Now what about your blue jeans? Simple, same method as removing hair color from jeans. Spray the stain with hairspray. Make sure to saturate the spot well. Then place into the washer along with vinegar and laundry detergent. Vinegar is awesome for washing clothes with stains.
