Remove Underarm Warts

Underarm warts, like warts found on other parts of the body, are caused by the human papillomavirus. Although there are different kinds of warts, most are passed off by either poor hygiene or contact with other individuals who have warts. Luckily, there are different cures for underarm warts, many of which you can perform in the comfort of your own home. At worst, if you aren't able to remove the warts yourself you can go see your family doctor and they can remove the wart, usually in one short visit.

Purchase a wart remover from your local pharmacy that contains salicylic acid. You do not need a prescription for this medicated cream. Apply the cream to the underarm wart every day after showering. You will want to keep your arm up so the cream can be absorbed into wart. This is only necessary for a few minutes. Make sure your arm has dried before attaching the cream. If the arm is still wet the cream can actually run down your arm and smear away from the warts.

Go to your doctor if you have been using the salicylic acid for several months and haven't seen any improvement. Your doctor may want to apply cantharidin to the wary. This is a chemical that will blister and scab the war over so it falls off. The medication will be coated onto the wart and a bandage placed over it.

Return to the doctor after a few days and your doctor will remove the wart and dead skin.

Purchase a nitrogen-based freezing medication. This can be done at the store, or you can purchase a heavier nitrogen freezing medication from your doctor. This can be applied to the skin wart and after a few weeks the wart will freeze itself off. At home the small amounts of medication will be added once a day, while the heavier medication at the doctor's office will be applied every one to three weeks.

* When treating an underarm wart you will want to avoid apply your deodorant directly to the war. This is because warts can be spread through contact, so rolling your deodorant on may actually result in additional warts appearing.
* You will also want to avoid shaving on the wart. Not only can this spread the infection but it can be extremely painful. If you must shave around the area be extremely careful and dispose of the razor after use.
