Renaissance Fairs in Colorado

Come, all ye rouges and maidens, to a medieval celebration! Renaissance fairs provide fine adventures for all ages! And there are a number to attend in Colorado.

Colorado Medieval Festival - Located approximately 65 miles north of Denver in Greeley, Colorado. This fair will be held at Monfort Park June 1st - 3rd from 12:00 pm - 6 pm on Friday and 10:00 am - 6:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Parking will be $2. Tickets will be $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6 - 17 and seniors ages 65 and over, and free for children ages 6 and under. Those wishing to dress in costume must keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. A special feature of this fair is the Children's Fun, Crafts, and Fantasy Area. Visitors will enjoy exhilarating live steel and women's combat performances, fascinating Roman re-enactors, exotic belly dancing, engaging storytelling, and beautiful music. Colorado Renaissance Festival - Located approximately 40 miles south of Denver in Larkspur, Colorado. This fair will be held weekends June 9th - July 29th from 10:00 am - 6:30 pm. Parking will be free. Tickets will be $17.95 for adults, $8 for kids ages 5 - 12, and free for children ages 4 and under. Those who wish to dress in period attire will be required to keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. There will be special themed weekends including A Pirates Invasion with a Captain Jack look alike contest, The Highland Games where the Rocky Mountain Scottish Athletes will compete in the 4th annual Highland Games, Love and Romance which will include activities for both couples and singles, Wine Revelry including Grape Stomp competitions for prizes, Children's Weekend when children ages 12 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult, Mardi Gras Carnivale featuring a Nobility Fashion show, Music and Dance Festival with a "Men in Kilts" contest and the 5th Annual Fiddlers contest, and finally Fare Thee Well which will be the celebratory end to the 31st Anniversary Season. Mancos Renaissance Faire - Located approximately 30 miles west of Durango in Mancos, Colorado at Cottonwood Park. This fair will be held June 23rd - 24th from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm on Saturday and 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Sunday. Parking and admission will be free. Those who wish to dress up will need to keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. Visitors will delight in enchanting music, astonishing magic shows, thrilling sword fights, and more. Grand Valley Renaissance and Pirate Faire - Located approximately 12 miles east of Grand Junction in Palisade, Colorado at the Riverbend Park. This fair will be held August 24th - 26th from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Friday, 10:00 am - 8:00 pm on Saturday, and 10:00 am - 6:00 pm on Sunday. Parking will be free. Tickets will be $6 for adults, $4 for seniors ages 65 and older, and free for children ages 10 and under. Those wishing to attend in period dress must keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied.     The Colorado Renaissance Festival in Larkspur is a long-standing tradition and lots of fun. I've been to it several times.
