Renaissance Fairs in Maryland

Good morrow, fine noblemen and beauteous ladies! Let me tell you of the wondrous adventures to be had at a renaissance fair! There are several to attend in Maryland.

Celtic Festival of Southern Maryland - Located approximately 47 miles south of Annapolis in St. Leonard, Maryland. This fair is held on the last Saturday of April every year from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm rain or shine. Tickets are $15 for Adults, $7 for kids ages 6-12, and free for children ages 5 and under. Special features of this fair include the competitions for pipers, fiddlers, highland dancers, athletes, drummers, and more. Storytellers entertain with delightful tales and musicians captivate with enchanting music against a backdrop of historical displays. Maryland Faerie Festival - Located approximately 23 miles west of Annapolis in Upper Marlboro, Maryland at the Patuxent 4H Center. This fair will be held May 19^th - 20^th from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. There will be a parking fee of $3 per vehicle. Tickets will be $10 for adults, $3 for kids ages 3 - 11, and free for children ages 3 and under. Attendees can receive $1 discount for dressing in costume, but note that no weapons will be allowed. No alcohol will be sold or permitted. This fantastical twist on a medieval festival features wonderful musicians, talented dancers, skilled jugglers, entertaining magicians, engaging storytellers, and much more. Vendors will be offering cold ice cream, delicate funnel cakes, refreshing teas and coffees, as well as art, books, jewelry, clothing, pottery, bath products, and of course fairy wings. Maryland Renaissance Festival - Located approximately 8 miles west of Annapolis in Crownsville, Maryland. This fair will be held weekends August 25^th - October 21^st including Monday September 3^rd from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm. Tickets will be $18 for adults, $15 for seniors ages 62 and older, $8 for kids ages 7 - 15, and free for children ages 6 and under. Labor Day September 3^rd will be Senior Day when all seniors ages 62 and older will be admitted free. Wedding reservations are available. Themed weekends include August 25^th - 26^th: Children's Weekend when all kids ages 11 and under will be admitted free; September 8^th - 9^th: Celtic Celebration including special entertainment; September 22^nd - 23^rd: Adventure Weekend with piratical fun for all ages; October 6^th - 7^th: Oktoberfest! German-inspired revelry; October 20^th - 21^st: Chivalry Weekend with special romantic treats.
