Renaissance Fairs in Massachusetts

Come, all ye knights and damsels, and witness fine medieval celebration at a renaissance fair! There are several that occur in the beauteous state of Massachusetts.

The Silver Kingdoms Renaissance Festival - Located approximately 53 miles east of Boston in Charlton, Massachusetts. This fair will be held weekends June 2nd - 10th from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. Tickets will be for adults, $5 for kids ages 8 - 12, and free for children ages 7 and under. Those wishing to dress in period attire will be required to keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. Boffer weapons are allowed. The event includes a Boffer Tournament which consists of separate competitions for 4 styles of combat. Appealing music, thrilling sword fights, astonishing magic, exotic gypsy dancing, masterful weaving demonstrations, and much more will entertain visitors while the village marketplace will offer finely crafted clothing, books, art, jewelry, toys, herbal products, weapons, leather goods, armor, and many more items. Festival of the Lion - Located approximately 42 miles east of Boston in Grafton, Massachusetts. This fair will be held August 25th - 26th from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm. Parking will be free. Tickets will be $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 5 - 12, and free for children ages 4 and under. Those who choose to dress in costume will need to keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. No alcohol will be sold or permitted. This medieval fantasy-themed celebration will feature outstanding performances on various stages as well as excellent handcrafted wares and delectable foods and beverages. King Richards Faire - Located approximately 48 miles south of Boston in Carver, Massachusetts. This fair will be held weekends September 1st - October 21st as well as Labor Day and Columbus Day Mondays from 10:30 am - 6:00 pm. Parking will be free. Tickets will be $25 for adults, $14 for kids ages 5 - 12, and free for children ages 4 and under. No re-entry will be allowed, another ticket must be purchased in order to enter the fair again on the same day. Those who wish to dress in period clothing must keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. Special features include blacksmith demonstrations, a Royal Zoo, and a kid's area with amusements and activities for children. Salem Pirate Faire - Located in Salem, Massachusetts at Winter Island Park. This festival will be held September 16th - 17th from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Parking will be free. Tickets will be $10 for adults; $8 for students, seniors, and military with ID, $5 for kids ages 12 and under. Those wishing to dress up must keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. No alcohol will be sold or allowed on site. Music and variety acts with piratical flair will entertain visitors. Merchants will be selling their plunder including clothing and jewelry, and there will be vendors offering plenty of hearty foods and beverages.
