Bill Johnston Pirate Days - Located approximately 98 miles north of Syracuse in Alexandria Bay, New York. This piratical festival will be held August 10th - 19th. Times will vary, so be sure to stop by the Entertainment Tent for a list of activities each day. Admission and parking will be free. Those wishing to dress up will not be allowed to carry weapons. No alcohol will be sold or permitted. Rowdy pirates will be performing throughout the village. There will be children's magic shows, parades, weapons demonstrations, and many more things to see and do. Catskill Mountains Renaissance Faire - Located approximately 40 miles south of Albany in Cairo, New York. This fair will tentatively be held August 11th - 12th from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Parking will be free. Tickets will be about $10 for adults. Those who wish to dress in period attire will need to keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. Not much is known about this fair, but Silvermane - a store offering fine weapons, armor, clothing, accessories, jewelry, and home décor items - appears to be a confirmed vendor. Sands Point Faire - Located approximately 26 miles east of New York City in Port Washington, New York at Sands Point Preserve. This fair will be held weekends September 8th - 16th from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm. Tickets will be $5 for adults, $3 for kids, and free for children ages 4 and under. Visitors will delight in dramatic jousting and archery, and have the opportunity to try their luck in different games of skill.
