Renaissance Fairs in New York During July

Good morrow, lords and ladies! Verily I say to thee that renaissance fairs are full of rousing good fun for all ages! And there are several to attend in New York during the month of July.

Sterling Renaissance Festival - Located approximately 42 miles northwest of Syracuse in Sterling, New York. This fair will be held weekends July 7th - August 19th from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm. Tickets will be $22 for adults, $8 for kids ages 6 - 12, and free for children ages 5 and under. Parking will be free. Those wishing to dress in costume will not be allowed to carry weapons. Special themed weekends include Children's, Romance, Pirates, and Grand Finale. Wedding packages will be available. Visitors will enjoy thrilling jousts, exciting living chess matches, fine music, and many more delightful performances. There will be rides and games for all ages. Merchants will be selling handcrafted clothing, jewelry, art, wooden goods, weapons, armor, leather goods, musical instruments, as well as excellent period foods and drinks. Hawk Creek's Annual Wildlife and Renaissance Festival - Located approximately 21 miles southeast of Buffalo in East Aurora, New York. This fair will be held weekends July 21st - 29th from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Tickets will be $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $6 for children. The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) will provide various medieval reenactments. There will be a petting zoo for kids. Visitors of all ages will enjoy performances by local artists and musicians. Additionally, there will be several opportunities to view and learn about many native and exotic animals. Beardslee Castle Medieval Faire - Located approximately 73 miles west of Albany in Little Falls, New York. This fair will be held July 22nd from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm. Parking will be free. Tickets will be $5. Those who choose to dress in period attire will need to keep weapons sheathed and peace-tied. Hilarious comedians, exotic belly dancers, and a wide variety of talented musicians will delight and entertain visitors. Vendors will offer delectable foods and refreshing beverages while merchants offer finely crafted wares such as candles, bath products, art, jewelry, clothing, games, and weapons.     We went to Sterling last year and are planning to go back this July. It is FANTASTIC. I highly recommend it.
