Its time to start getting excited for the Reno Rodeo! The 2007 Reno Rodeo takes place June 15to the 23rd at the Reno Livestock Events Center in Reno NV. This is the 88th year of the Reno Rodeo. The Reno Rodeo will also be the first stop on the Wrangler Pro Rodeo Summer Tour. Last year was the first time I went to the Rodeo. I did not think it would be for me, but it was a great time. I loved watching the Bull Riding and the Mutton Bustin. The Rodeo was so much fun!

The Reno Rodeo has so much to offer. There are many vendors and there are also carnival rides. You will see people dressed up in cowboy gear all around you so it's a great place to people watch as well. There are so many events going on at the Rodeo. There is Extreme Bull Riding, Roping, Barrel Racing, and Professional Rodeo Events. There is a kid's rodeo event called Mutton Bustin. Mutton Bustin is where kids ages 5 to 7 mount a sheep and ride it. Those are some brave kids let me tell you! There is also a parade for the Reno Rodeo that goes down South Virginia Street on Saturday June 16th.

The Reno Rodeo also has an event called the Special Kids Rodeo. It started in 1983 as a way to give back to the community. This event is for children with special needs that may be mentally or physically challenged. The Special Kids Rodeo gives these children a chance to do things like ride a mechanical bull or to get to touch horses. This is a very special part of the rodeo, and a great way to give back to our community.

When you are at the Rodeo you are definitely going to want to wear something that is lightweight. When I went last year it was very hot. Plus there is a chance that you will be sitting in an uncovered area on metal bleachers. I definitely recommend wearing light weight clothing and brining a jacket for the evening hours. Also bug spray is a good idea; I did get bit by some bugs as well. If you are staying for a while a seat cushion is good too.

Did I mention the food? There are so many great vendors at the Reno Rodeo. All kinds of great food, and of course my favorite is BBQ. Definitely check out the BBQ there are several vendors that have a great selection. There is also many beverage vendors and beer gardens. So come down to the Reno Livestock Events Center and check out the Reno Rodeo. It will defiantly be worth your time!
