Renowned Pittsburgh Executive Coaching Expert, Chris Posti, Authors Her First Book on Marriage

If you think your failing marriage isn't impacting your job or career, think again. According to Christine Posti, a seasoned behavior-change executive coach in Pittsburgh, PA, the behaviors in your personal life often bleed into the workplace, and vice versa, resulting in twice as many problems.

Posti's passion and desire to help people recognize their problem behaviors, and to understand that the only behavior they can change is their own behavior, has resulted in much success for her and her clients in the business world. And, this same passion has led her in a more personal direction to write her first book, Marriage On And Off The Rocks.

In this just-published book, Posti interviewed men and women, from Alaska to Hawaii to Florida and many points in between, for the purpose of learning how our behaviors impact our marriages and what we can do to get better results in our relationships. It is a thought-provoking and soul-searching book of fascinating and compelling stories of 24 real people who have gone through all sorts of marital, divorce and remarriage situations.

Posti said, "I like to think of Marriage On And Off The Rocks as an alternative approach to the traditional self-help books, because no one is going to 'tell' the reader anything. Rather, my hope is that these true stories will serve as a mirror, showing the reader what he or she needs to do to have a successful marriage or a successful life after a divorce, whether or not they decide to remarry."

Posti says the book allows readers to have an "aha" moment when they read stories of people demonstrating behaviors that are harmful to their marriage - and they suddenly come to the realization they are doing the very same thing.

In one of the stories, for example, a woman was married to a man who just could not hold onto a job. The woman said, "he'd get a job, and as soon as she started to feel like he could earn a living, he'd be fired again." This behavioral pattern netted a couple different outcomes. For the wife's career, it was devastating, because she was so distracted by her husband's erratic career, that she felt she could not take any chances changing jobs or careers. Another outcome was that the marriage did not survive because the wife always felt she was taken advantage of by her husband. After the divorce, the wife realized she had a history of picking men who took advantage of her, and so she took a number of steps to improve her self-esteem, which was actually the root of her problem.

The diverse stories in Marriage On And Off The Rocks include tales of infidelity, abuse, mental illness, job loss, internet porn, bisexuality, childhood trauma, financial troubles, and many others - including even attempted polygamy - making it clear that anyone who thoughtfully reads this book will be able to learn about their own behaviors and how to change them in order to get better results in their relationships.

Marriage On And Off The Rocks is available on Amazon and Kindle, and the book's website and blog address is www.MarriageOnAndOffTheRocks.com.
