Yes, the Midwest rockers, known as REO Speedwagon are back on the road again. You can't keep these guys down, dating back to 1971 when they first hit the music scene and still goin strong in 2007. REO Speedwagon is currently on tour promoting their brand new studio album, Find Your Own Way Home. It is their first studio album in over a decade and one that lead singer/guitarist, Kevin Cronin, is very proud of. "I am very proud of this album, I can honestly say it's one of the best albums we have ever done, definitely in the top three," said Cronin. The new album features ten well-put-together songs and the first hit single off the record is "I needed to fall". FindYour Own Way Home is a must-listen for not just REO fans, but for REAL music fans that enjoy well-produced and quality-driven albums.
The evening was a perfect summer night on Sunday, July 15 at the Fraze Pavillion in Kettering, Ohio and the mood was right. Right for what you ask? Well, a great concert of course with seasoned vets in the rock 'n' roll industry. REO Speedwagon was set to hit the stage in Ohio and would be a night to remember for any music fans.
REO hit the stage and played all of their big hits such as: "Take It On The Run", "Can't Fight This Feeling", "Time For Me To Fly", "Back On The Road Again", "Keep On Loving You", "Don't Let Him Go", and "Ridin' The Storm Out". They also played many songs off the new album such as: "smilin' in the end", "find your own way home", "I needed to fall", and "dangerous combination".
My guests and I stood for the whole concert and for good reason: it was a hell of a show! The energy put forward by REO Speedwagon was something short of amazing and a complete joy to hear and witness. My guests and I, along with other fans in the crowd, sang along to familiar songs and cheered and applauded with fury. It was personally one of the best concerts I've been to, definitely in the top five. I want to thank all the guys from REO for such a great concert, now I can say why they are one of my favorite bands.
Kevin Cronin on lead vocals and guitar, Bruce Hall on bass, Neal Doughty on keyboards, Dave Amato on lead guitar, and Bryan Hitt on drums proved on July 15 that they are a great, live band. There is no question about that fact, I am a witness. The musicians known as REO Speedwagon don't seem to be letting up anytime soon, maybe they're just beginning??
