My involvement with this affair began many years ago when the father of a missing boy came to see me as a psychic to help him find his missing son.
I worked on the case for several weeks, on and off and ended up with a large file of psychic clues. A team of us went looking often.
The provincial newspaper from the town published my psychic impressions, along with a photo of me onto its front page so that the whole town could get working together in finding him.
After several months neither our team of psychics, the local police nor any locals had managed to find the missing boy. Many myths and theories abounded within the community- as they usually do in such cases.
The boy's family was, needless to say completely gutted.
Several years later when I was working in the prison system one of the men accused of the boys murder started coming to me for counseling. Of course he didn't recognize me as the psychic whose story had been front page news.
But he did tell me about what this psychic had said. I think it had obviously bothered him on some level. He said something like, "this crazy psychic had some of the stuff right".
Anyways after a period of time he had built up a good trust with me and told me many details of the case.
It turns out that much of what I had felt was accurate. But, as can sometimes be the case a major detail was wrong and in this case it was relating to location. Details about the old mine shaft and the company that owned it were correct.
This fellah felt that he was cursed. Ever since the day of the boys murder he had been plagued with some terrible physical conditions that had caused him immense pain and great difficulty in sleeping.
In fact he had initially approached me to see if I could help him deal with a 'curse' that had been put onto him. He was convinced he was cursed - and in a way he was.
People get murdered for the most bizarre and trivial reasons. This boy had been killed because he had hitched a ride and was a drunken passenger in the back seats of the ca and vomited all over the back seats. When he vomited the driver of the car (not the man I am talking about though I believe he did take the rap) lost his temper and murdered the boy. They then took him several miles out of town and buried him in an old mine shaft.
Now this man I was counseling decided that he just wanted to bring peace to himself, the boy's spirit and the parents of the boy. He said that the first thing he wanted to do after he had served his term which he felt he well deserved was to get out and lead the police to the boy's remains.
The police did take him out there whilst he was still on remand but they could not find the body. He told me that they had all come to the conclusion that recent floods had brought the remains of the body up and out of the shaft. They scoured the nearby area without success.
Now I'd like make a point about police search techniques. Police use a grid system of searching so that they can go over every inch of ground.
When I am on a 'case' I always use an experienced aboriginal tracker. And a good Aboriginal tracker (such as the ones I use) can completely read the bush and find a fibre of cotton in a dense forest a few square miles big. I have more than once helped in significant cases by using a tracer.
On the contrary the grid system completely eliminates the evidence.
And in this particular case if they had used a good tracker they would figured out to look along the creek line where the remains would have been found.
One of the moral dilemmas my life has presented me with over the years is that I would have dearly liked to returned to the boys father and told him about my experience with one of the murderers and to say how remorseful he was and how sick he has as a result of the curse of his crime.
But of course this was something I was never allowed to do.
Now today on the news is that his body has been found not far from where the murderer told me the body was. Surprising how much this news makes me feel better. Hopefully now the murderer, the boy's parents and the boy's spirit can have a little more rest.
Case closed hopefully.
