Report: Sarah Palin's Make-Up Artist Cost $22,800

McCain's Highest Paid Staffer Is, You Wouldn't Have Guessed It, Sarah Palin's Make-up Artist

Who would have thought? Palin's highest paid staffer is, you wouldn't have guessed it, Sarah Palin's Make-up Artist. Sarah Palin's make-up artist earns more in two weeks than some in a year. How will the Republican Party deal with this new revelation? I for one, am flabbergasted that the Republican Party doesn't sense these hot-button issues in advance. Wouldn't they realize how the public might react to such a tidbit?

An article in the Huffington post had me wondering if I didn't pick the right job. A report revealed that Sarah Palin's makeup stylist cost $22,800. And that is just for the first two weeks of October. Apparently they paid her more than any other McCain staffer.

What exactly can be so expensive to get Sarah Palin's face done? These amounts of money are Hollywood stardom borderline.

So, how exactly does the Republican Party justify these huge amount of money in a time of economic crisis? Most women I know would agree that it is perfectly possible to get a decent make-up without spending so much. This is definitely not the make-up of a simple hockey-mom.

But not only the Huffington Post reports about this. The New York Times reveal that "Amy Strozzi, who was nominated for an Emmy award for her makeup work on the television show "So You Think You Can Dance?", was paid $22,800."

And this new revelation comes just days after America and the rest of the world learned about Sarah Palin's huge shopping spree of $150,000.

While Sarah Palin and John McCain explained that these designer clothes will be donated, it does not answer why it was deemed appropriate to spend these sums in the first place. Surely, clothing for half the amount would have done the trick, too?

But, the question is, there is no solution to explain away the costs of a make-up artist. The Republican Party simply can't donate any left-over Palin lipstick, or can they? Will this erupt in a new scandal around Sarah Palin?

It sure is another chip at the Republican Party in a time where the votes are sliding, and not in their favor. On the other hand, one might argue that Sarah Palin's job is to look vice-presidential. And that this involves designer clothes and make-up applied by a Hollywood make-up artist. But then again, let us focus on the issues, and not on the make-up.

No scandal. Just a misjudgement that negated the efforts to connect with Joe the Plumber.
