Reports: Elin Nordegren Woods' Statements to Police Contradict Each Other; No Blood Found in SUV

Is Tiger Woods' Wife Hiding Something?

The focus of the Tiger Woods' accident investigation is taking yet another surprising turn and increasingly seem to be focusing on his wife, Elin Nordegren Woods and whether she actually assaulted her husband.
Reports are now surfacing that multiple statements given by Nordegren to the Florida Highway Patrol and the Windermere, Florida police department differ dramatically. While details remain sketchy, the crux of the issue is a significant discrepancy over whether or not Elin Nordegren Woods heard the accident, ran outside and then ran back inside to get a golf club to help break into the car and free Woods, or if she had the club with her already...potentially a hugely significant difference to what actually occurred that night.

Further intensifying the focus on Elin Nordegren Woods is that accident investigators reportedly found no blood on the inside of Tiger Woods' SUV, suggesting that he sustained the injuries not in the accident itself, but after he had exited the vehicle.

It is also being reported today that Windermere police again tried to interview Tiger Woods at his home but were again turned away (as they were yesterday).

The logical question now being raised is whether or not it is possible that Elin Nordegren Woods could be held legally responsible for the accident and/or the injuries sustained by Tiger Woods; whether she is potentially a suspect here for assaulting her husband. This could become a very murky situation as Tiger Woods will need to balance a three legged stool of legal considerations, his family and his career as he could have problems in all three areas as this case continues to develop.

If Elin Nordegren Woods were suspected of assaulting Tiger Woods at home and without a car accident, it is almost always imperative that the injured party, in this case Tiger Woods, would cooperate, press charges and provide testimony. However, the car accident itself occurred on a neighbor's property and became a public issue when it did and when the police arrived. While it is far too early to jump to conclusions in how this will play out, it could be that the local police will not even need Tiger Woods' participation to press charges against Elin Nordegren Woods.

The circumstantial evidence, at least based on reports, is certainly piling up against Elin Nordegren Woods: an alleged affair, an argument, a middle of the night car accident, injuries and statements that do not reconcile with each other. The upcoming hours and days may begin to unravel most of this mystery, though it is quite plausible that the entire story will never be fully known.
