Republicans Blame Obama for BP Crisis? Now That's Lame!

Republicans Run Nasty Campaign. What Comes Around Goes Around!

John Mario
You want to understand why I don't like the Republican leadership?

Look at the current crisis with the BP oil rig. Many attempts have failed to stop the oil leak. None have worked very well. So what are the Republican leaders doing besides attempting to place the blame on the Obama administration? Are they suggesting new ideas to resolve this problem? Have they investigated whether our own oil rigs have the same safeguards that the BP oil rig did not have? Was worst case testing performed on our own oil rigs? Are the Republican leaders posing any of these questions?

I think the Republican leaders are doing what they do best. And that is not attempting to resolve the BP crisis. That is nothing more than empty campaign rhetoric and destructive criticism. What would the Republican Leaders do? Would they get tough with BP?

Why don't the Republican leaders tell the US voters exactly what they would do to resolve the BP crisis? I think the Republican leaders would do a lot less than Obama has done. They believe in protecting big business and BP is big business. They already tried "getting tough" in a Congressional committee and that hasn't yielded any solution to the crisis.

The biggest concern is that in recent years Republican leaders see war as the only solution to international problems. Republican leaders like war. Do they think that starting a war with Great Britain would somehow magically resolve the BP oil rig problem? Do they think bombing the BP headquarters is a solution to this crisis?

Are the Republican leaders willing to share the blame for this crisis? They should be. But they never were able to say "I was wrong." or "I was partially at fault." They are all just like President George W Bush.

Republicans Leaders appear to want to block all progress in every direction. They don't want world peace. They have zero tolerance for big government programs. They say big government is no good. I agree that there was something radically wrong with the big government that allowed the Katrina disaster to happen and the big government that failed to respond to the needs of the people after the Katrina disaster. And I have full confidence that the Republican leaders would be very ineffective at letting big government resolve the BP oil rig crisis. After all, they don't like big government and going after BP is big government business!

I'll bet the Republican leaders response to the fishing industry crisis would be to say to the unemployed: "Tough luck. Go for training in a new career!" And some Republican leader would attempt to deny Government grants and deny unemployment checks to the new unemployed because it requires too much spending. Now tell me again exactly how these Republican leader are for the people!!

Obama is 1000 times better than any Republican President in recent history because Obama had to courage to accept responsibility for his short comings. No Republican Leader is willing to come forward and accept partial responsibility for anything. All Republicans Leaders like to do is create fear, criticize others and block legislation.

In other news, the Tea Party made a major mistake supporting Rand Paul. Are they willing to admit it? You have to admit this was the wrong response to the allegation of racism within the Tea Party? Sounds like a Sarah Palin blunder to me. Yep. She sure knows how to screw up a campaign! I'd like to see her campaign for every Republican. That would make the Republican Party the smallest least successful political party in history.

Maybe Sarah should write a new book titled "How To Screw Up A Political Campaign." LOL!

Guess what, Pelosi blamed it on the Republicans this past week. Obama is a different embodiment of the same thing. Partisan politics. It goes both ways with both parties.

John, I agree with your point of view 100%.

It seems that all the republican party wants to do is play the blame game and blame everybody for causing the BP oit spill. At least Obama is willing to go out there, look at it, and work with others to come up with ideas for fixing it. Obama seems to understand that we need to work together to be able to fix things like this, and that's the kind of leadership that we need in Washington DC.

The environmental crisis in the Gulf shouldn't be about a political catfight between Democrats and Republicans... it's about stopping the oil leak and getting the mess cleaned up. Shame on any politician who tries to politicize this crisis; they will get an earful from me! It must be said, however, that the government's response to the crisis has been very poor... at least as bad as the Bush administration's handling of the Katrina disaster. Even James Carville, that staunch Democratic strategist, says that; he has publicly taken the Obama administration to task for their slow and reactive response to the greatest environmental disaster in history. Having said all that... you have penned an excellent article, my friend!
