So many of us have woken up to a strange reality, we have seen that the Republicans and Democrats are not exactly what they seem. They are both politically motivated, they are both looking to make changes, and they are both wonderful actors.
The truth of this matter is these two parties are not enemies at all. They are a lot like those wrestling matches you see on television where the two mean looking big guys swear they are going to rip each other's throats out but after the match, they go get a beer at the local bar talking about how great of a show they put on. This is what we have in the United States. These two parties are actually one large party but they play the game to us so that we will feel like we won or lost an election voting for the "best candidate". It gives us the sense that we actually had a choice in the matter, even though we don't.
While I know this is a shock to some of you, it is clearly visible in laws that have been enacted, laws that have been re-enacted and by policy matters that never seem to change even when one or the other party gets control. Look at the wars we have and are fighting. Republicans want war and Democrats say they don't. Yet here we are in two wars and the promises of getting out of these wars have not been met. It does not take a rocket scientist (or anyone for that matter) to see that we are being played like a fiddle at a bad country music concert.
Why is it that only the richest candidates get any press? Have you noticed that "normal" people are not capable of running for office? Do you think for one moment that you with your middle class American wages would have a chance in a race? If you do, I would like to see you try. Why is it that rich people are the only ones who seem capable of getting involved with politics? Who is backing these people? There has to be an answer and supposedly the donations are "transparent" yet we never get the whole picture.
So next time you think that we have a voice in voting "the best person" into office, think again, we are only voting in what the government wants to let us vote in.
