The Professor predicts the ACC will send 5 teams to the NCAA Tournament. But, you never know whether not an underdog can make it to the NCAA Tournament. That's what people love about Men's Basketball.
Lock:
Duke(5): These guys are a lock with a 10-1 conference record and a 22-2 overall record. They are even 4-1 against top-25 teams. Have to win the conference tournament to get a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Chance: 10
North Carolina(3): These guys are a lock with a 9-2 conference record and a 24-2 overall record. They are only 1-1 against top-25 teams. So the team hasn't been tested much against the top competition. Have to win the conference tournament to get a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Chance: 10
Clemson: These guys are pretty much a lock unless they struggle during the rest of the season. They have a 7-4 conference record and a 19-6 overall record. They are 0-3 against top-25 teams. So the team has struggled against the tough competition. If they can just win 2 out of the next 5 games and make it into the semifinals of their conference tourney. Then, they will make the NCAA Tournament. Chance: 9
Bubble Teams:
Maryland: This team would get in if the tournament started today, but that's not how it works. The team is 7-4 in conference play and 17-9 overall. The team is 1-3 against Top-25 teams, but they did beat N. Carolina and are the only team other than Duke to accomplish that. If they can just continue to play well they will get in. Chance: 7
Wake Forest: This team is truly a bubble team. The team is 6-5 in conference play and 16-8 overall. The team is 1-1 against Top-25 teams, but they did beat Duke and are the only team in their conference to do it. They are 5-5 in the last ten games. If they can keep the momentum going from Duke and score another upset in N. Carolina or make a nice run in the conference tournament, then they will make the NCAA Tournament.
Chance: 6
Virginia Tech: This team is hurting and they are limping towards the end of the season. They need to get back on track and make it to the conference finals. They have lost their last three games and have gone 5-6 in the conference and 14-11 overall. They have also lost all 4 games against Top-25 teams. Chance: 3
Miami: They are struggling, but have managed a 4-6 conference record and a 17-7 overall record. This team needs some help and that probably means beating Duke or a run to the Conference Finals. Chance: 4
Need to win the Conference Tournament:
NC. State: They have a 4-7 conference record, a 15-10 overall record, and a 2-4 vs. Top 25. Chance: 2
Georgia Tech: They have a 4-6 conference record, a 11-13 overall record, and a 0-5 vs. Top 25. Chance: 1
Boston College: They have a 4-7 conference record, a 13-11 overall record, and a 1-3 vs. Top 25. Chance: 1
Florida State: They have a 3-8 conference record, a 14-12 overall record, and a 1-4 vs. Top 25. Chance: 1
Virginia: They have a 2-9 conference record, a 12-12 overall record, and a 1-2 vs. Top 25. Chance: 1

Post a CommentDude, the Atlantic Coast Conference is a college basketball conference, not a professional basketball conference.
