Rescue Beauty Lounge Iconic/Ironic Collection: Spring 2011

Gwendolyn Taylor
With the season of spring around the corner, Rescue Beauty Lounge has come out with a sophisticated and unique collection of nail lacquer shades that represent the ever-changing nature of our individual interests. Us beauty fashionistas may claim to stick to one particular style or method, but in reality this theory is unlikely to remain true very long. This collection shows off our varying interests in a classy and distinctive way.

There are four shades to this new collection. Too offset the usual pastels and tropical shades of the spring season, Rescue Beauty Lounge have come out with neutral and bolder based colors in exchange. "Decorous" is a tawny shimmering light brown shade. "Iconoclast" is a black shade with a twist of silver and iridescent shimmer. "Insouciant" is a pale shimmering light lavender purple shade with a iridescent hue to it. "Recherche" is a deep bold plum brown shade. Out of the entire lot, "Decorous" is a definite favorite of mine. Who says that brown shades can only be worn in the fall? It is such a beautiful brown shade as well, as it announces chic, but doesn't scream depressing. "Iconoclast" is a runner-up favorite, and although black shades of nail polishes may have been overdone, this particular shade has a hint of multicolor flecks that will bring the lighted up, girly side in us. "Recherche" is definitely the boldest step in the collection, being such a deep hue that most would tend to wear during the winter season. However, it works and doesn't look like last season's leftovers. "Insouciant" is probably my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, lavender is my favorite color, but for some reason the pairing of this light purple shade with iridescence looks a bit too contrasting with my skin tone. Maybe if they left out the touch of iridescence, this shade would have been tops in my book.

Rescue Beauty Lounge nail polishes are comprised of resin and high molecular polymers to boost the characteristics of flexibility, durability, and shine. They contain none of the three harmful chemicals found commonly in nail polish products today (Touluene, DBP, and Formaldehyde). They also do not contain Formaldehyde Resin, which is also considered toxic. Rescue Beauty Lounge nail polishes are available for purchase via their website (www.rescuebeauty.com). The polishes usually retail for about $18 per individual bottle. This collection is set to debut in February 2011, but those who sign up on Rescue Beauty Lounge's exclusive newsletter may get access to early sale dates.
