Poetic Retreat from Research
The work and meat of writing,
Just so damned exciting,
Unless of course
On 3rd quarter earnings.
It doesn't exactly set the mood,
for yearnings
(I quietly brood),
To do more research.
R.O.I- Pah-lease!
Creative mind-
Such dismal fare. (Tisk)
My mind sneaks blind,
To ease the pain I find
My sacred lair;
In hopes to spare me
This is where I'd rather be,
Engaged even in bad poetry.
Instead of a graph
Research, well ya got me
May as well be my epitaph,
"Death by Deadlines"
R.I.P, Research in Postmortem
The autopsy showed
She died of boredom.
Died at 9pm central time
Pressed submit
And cried 'You Nitwit!
WTF! This can't be true
Daylight Saving Time
An hour past due!
All that research gone to hell'
The mourners murmured,
"Just as well,
Another writer
Bites the dust- Just means
More page views for us! (snicker)"
"Research and deadlines,
She shouldn't have fussed
She came in with a roar
Left with a flicker"
Furthermore,
Death by
Plastic 'spork'
Would have made her less a dork,
And proved to have been much quicker.
