Researchers to Study Link Between Diabetes Type 1 and Coxsackie's Virus on Children

For years, doctors, whom have treated children with diabetes type 1 have long suspected a direct link between antivirus, and the development of the diabetes type 1. Now a group of 10 researchers is going to figure out that link.

This is a group of international researchers, and they have gathered for one purpose, and that purpose is to see if there really is that direct link between diabetes type one and a common childhood virus, Coxsackie's .

If they find that link that, they are looking for then, possibly, they could create a vaccine, to help prevent the children getting the diabetes type one and this would help them millions of children are on the world, who are diagnosed with having diabetes type 1.

Professor Keith Taylor of the Center for diabetes and metabolic medicine, at Barts and the London views that this area of diabetes research has been neglected for far too long.

The diabetes in children is not a new disease, is common, and the number of children being diagnosed with it each year is raising steadily. More and more children each year are coming down with this, and that is sad.

It is hoped that these 10 international experts in diabetes, will find the link and if that link is a virus trauma than a vaccine to the virus is a very real possibility.

Doctors, scientists, and researchers have debated since the 1960s, suggested there was a link between diabetes in children, and that the Coxsackie's virus, and it is about time someone starts looking into that link with research. The children will not have to needlessly suffer any longer with diabetes; they can enjoy a normal healthy childhood, if a virus can be found so that a vaccine can be found to prevent it.

It has been now over 80 years since insulin was discovered, and it is helped millions lead a healthier lifestyle, but if you can prevent the disease. These people can even have a healthier lifestyle.

The researchers need to know what interrupts the insulin production process, while the children are young, before all the help complications that viruses associated with diabetes can set.

Scientists from Finland, Scotland, and Italy have recently conducted studies that suggests and postmortem studies of diabetic children, they have detected the Coxsackie's virus, and this suggests to those scientists, that these children had the virus first. The researchers are hoping to find the link so that more children do not have to die because of the complications from diabetes.

My daughter developed juvenilie diskettes at age 3.5 years. I had joined a play group with some friends and my daughter would go to these two homes a few hours a week. After my daughter came down with this , I was speaking to one of these friends, Alice Liggitt and mentioned to her that the doctor asked if. My daughter had been around anyone with cocksaxie virus and my friend said that her son had just gotten over that! I remember this from so many years ago because I had never heard of that disease before. Now I curse the day I ever met Alice Liggitt and her family for causing my daughter to get a serious life time illness, if there was a link in fact.
