Resort Review: Elbow Beach Club Resort

Bermuda is a great, nearby vacation destination for those of us living on the east coast. Airfare here is typically cheaper than to the Bahamas or the Caribbean which leaves you more money to spend on a great resort. The Elbow Beach Club Resort in Paget Parish, Bermuda is just that. This resort is a member of the Five Star Alliance and is one of the biggest luxury hotels on the island.

When we arrived, the staff did an excellent job of getting us checked in and getting us and our luggage to our room right away. The rooms are beautiful since the resort was remodeled in 2006. There are bright colors everywhere and huge windows looking out onto the beach. Room rates range from about $300 to $4,000 a night. We stayed in the Delightful Spring room which was a junior suite with a balcony overlooking the ocean. There was a king bed and a sofa which could be folded out into an extra bed. This room cost us $469 a night but $50 a day that could be used in the spa.

The airport is only about a half hour from the hotel so we rented scooters. Getting there was a fun adventure. There are tons of fun things to do nearby as well. The resort is right on the beach so it was a short walk down to the water. The sand at this beach is pink! We were able to rent kayaks and explore in the water on our own. There is scuba diving offered as well but neither of us wanted to take the time to get trained since we were only there for 4 days. The resort is surrounded by 50 acres of tropical gardens which took us an entire afternoon to explore. Bermuda's capital, Hamilton, is very close by and it took about 5 minutes for us to walk into town.

The resort has a beautiful pool to swim in if you prefer not to go in the ocean. We played a game of tennis one night on their lighted courts. It seemed as if there was always a court available, which is not always true at these types of resorts. There apparently is live entertainment at the resort three nights a week but there was nothing of interest to us going on while we were there. The hotel has its own onsite casino which is a fun way to spend an evening.

Eating seemed to be a big thing to do at Elbow Beach. There were seven restaurants at the resort. We had the opportunity to test out three of them during out stay. The food and service were above average at each.

Overall, I would recommend the Elbow Beach Club Resort as a great place to stay if you will be in Bermuda. It is rather expensive but everything is so convenient that it makes up for the cost.
