Restaurant City Strategy Guide - Main Dishes by Difficulty

Find Your Perfect Place to Start Amidst the Dizzying Array of Main Dishes Available in Restaurant City

Patricia Mayo
Of all the dish lines to complete in Restaurant City, the main dishes are easily the most mind-boggling. Oh so many of them - where do you begin?!

This Restaurant City strategy guide on main dishes by difficulty gives you an easy starting point. You will learn where each dish stands in terms of how difficult it will be to complete, narrowing down the dizzying choices substantially.

Be sure to add me on Facebook to stay informed on all the latest Restaurant City strategy guides - including guides similar to this on starters, desserts, and drinks. Also in the works are weekly strategy guides to all the dish lines giving you the most up-to-date information on how difficult it will be to complete a dish right here and now based on current ingredient availability.

This as well as all my other Restaurant City strategy guides on dishes are best used alongside my Restaurant City strategy guide on trading basics. That guide covers the true value of ingredients (and thus how most other players judge trades) and advanced tactics to help you finish those dishes. If you haven't yet, you should definitely give it a read - otherwise this guide won't make much sense to you.

Important Notes on Using This Guide

When I say a dish is easy, I mean that it includes few rare ingredients. On the other hand, when I say a dish is difficult, that means it needs a lot of rare ingredients. When I say a dish is "ridiculously" easy or difficult, that means the dish's difficulty rating is vastly different from its next nearest easy or difficult dish.

To be more specific - I have ranked each ingredient by their rarity. You can find this rating in the Restaurant City strategy guide on trading basics. For each dish I've taken their ingredients' rarity ratings and added them together, weighing the rarity 6+ ingredients a bit more heavily for a more accurate idea of difficulty.

However, if you don't have enough ingredients of equal rarity to trade for the ingredients you need - even if a dish is ranked "easy" it will not be so easy for you. I have provided just a baseline idea. It is up to you to make sure you have enough ingredients of equal or greater rarity to trade for the ingredients you need. If you don't really understand how this works, again you should reference my strategy guide on Restaurant City trading basics.

Furthermore, this is just a baseline idea. I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating for one important reason. Each ingredient's rarity is not exactly set in stone. You have to account for what is currently available - and for this reason I will publish weekly dish guides with up-to-date information on the difficulty level of each dish. Keep an eye out for links to these and other strategy guides on my Facebook profile once you have added me.

Main Dishes by Difficulty

Out of 25 regular menu main dishes, only 6 do not use a rare ingredient - making main dishes a bit of a challenge. However, averaged together, main dishes are easier than any other line, but given the sheer number the main dishes will take a while to complete.

The only ridiculously easy dish to complete is Vegetarian Fried Rice, but there are 6 ridiculously difficult dishes. Ranging from relatively easiest to the absolutely most ridiculously difficult dish, they are Burger and Fries, Chicken Tikka Masala, Roast Chicken, Caesar Salad, Grilled Rump Steak, and Margarita Pizza.

Below I have listed the dishes by difficulty. The easiest dishes are at the top of the list and they become more difficult as you progress down the list. The number next to the dish is a difficulty index so you can easily classify them since the difficulty jumps significantly between some dishes. For your reference I have also included the ingredients needed for each dish in parentheses.

Vegetarian Fried Rice - 1 (rice, tofu, leek)
Yakibuta Ramen - 3 (noodles, pork, onion)
Pork and Apple Chops - 4 (pork, apple, onion)
Bak Nut Teh - 4 (coriander, pork, garlic)
Lamb with Pomegranate Sauce - 4 (lamb, pomegranate, garlic)
Tuna Sushi - 5 (tuna, rice, wasabi)
Three-Cup Chicken - 5 (ginger, basil, chicken)
Mushroom Risotto - 5 (rice, mushroom, oregano)
Tuna Steak with Vegetables - 6 (tuna, potato, carrot)
Chili Con Carne - 6 (chili, beans, rice)
Seafood Paella - 6 (rice, saffron, prawn)
Mapo Tofu - 6 (tofu, rice, chili)
Hotdog and Fries - 8 (sausage, bread, potato)
Roast Beef - 8 (beef, carrot, salad)
Sausages and Mash - 8 (sausage, potato, butter)
Lobster - 8 (lobster, butter, salad)
Pepperoni Pizza - 9 (pepperoni, cheese, tomato)
Spaghetti Bolognese - 9 (pasta, beef, tomato)
Lasagna - 9 (beef, cheese, pasta)
Burger and Fries - 11 (bread, beef, potato)
Chicken Tikka Masala - 11 (chicken, rice, bayleaf)
Roast Chicken - 13 (chicken, potato, salad)
Caesar Salad - 13 (salad, bread, egg)
Grilled Rump Steak - 13 (beef, potato, salad)
Margarita Pizza - 15 (cheese, tomato, flour)

Bear in mind some of these ingredients are near impossible to find due to current market availability, so that index will never be entirely accurate.
