I have been to both of these Bambinelli Italian restaurants many times. They both offer a family atmosphere with friendly, knowledgeable waiters. Since the restaurants are very popular, especially on weekend evenings, you might have to wait for your table. But it is certainly worth it the wait.
The restaurant menu offers traditional Italian dishes such as baked lasagna, spaghetti, baked manicotti, pesto ravioli, baked ziti and fetuccine alfredo, along with chef's specials like veal marsalsa, breast of chicken primavera and davinci parmigiana combo. Seafood selections include shrimp scampi, fresh mussels and their deluxe seafood combination. There is also selection of entrees with smaller portions just for children. However if your children are joining you for dinner at Baminelli's, you may want to order one of their family sized pizzas. They offer several styles of pizza including Bambinelli's special, meat lover's special, Hawaiian pizza aloha and even a plain cheese pizza.
The last time I ate at Bambinelli's, I ordered the baked lasagna. Minutes later my meal arrived hot from the oven. The dish, which featured large flat pasta noodles, a combination of ricotta, romano and mozzarella cheeses, homemade-like tomato sauce and just the right amount of Italian herbs and spices, was cooked to perfection and delicious.
My dinner companion ordered the veal parmigiana. This extraordinary dish of breaded veal with an Italian spiced tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese was recommended by our waiter, and my companion loved it.
Neither I or my dinner companion could finish our meal, so we asked for doggie bags. But that did not stop us from sharing a Bambinelli canolli for dessert along with our coffee. The canolli, with its crunchy shell and creamy flavorful filling, was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Considering that it is not easy to find a restaurant that offers delicious authentic Italian canollis in the greater Atlanta area, I would say that Bambanelli's canollis are the best in Atlanta.
If you live in the greater Atlanta area, or will be visiting in the near future, I hope you will consider enjoying an exceptional meal of Italian food at Bambinelli's Italian Restaurant in Atlanta or Lilburn.
