Upon entering the building I would not have known I was in a restaurant if it hadn't been for the large menu on the wall and the take out counter. It really had the décor of a sports bar, which is fine with me as long as the food is good.
We were a party of six, which was where we encountered our first problem. The restaurant had a very limited amount of seating for parties larger than four people. We waited fifteen to twenty minutes for a table to come open. We were seated and our waitress took our drink orders.
Since this was our first time dining there we took a bit longer to peruse the menu. Our waitress delivered our drinks and checked with us to see if we were ready to order and offered to give us a few more minutes to look at the menu and she would be back.
I am not sure when she meant she would be back, but we actually thought she might have gone on break and left us to starve. We were ready to order, waiting, and were getting pretty hungry. Just about the time we started conspiring to steal the food of the people at the next table the waitress finally returned to take our orders. It was at this point I realized that there were no fries, onion rings or other sides included with the sandwiches. Huh?
We placed our orders for two chicken sandwiches, two burgers and two kids meals- one chicken strips and one grilled cheese. The kid's meals at least came with potato smiles or something like that.
The chicken sandwiches were not bad, but my husband and father both reported that the burgers were overdone to the point of actually being a bit burnt. I tasted my daughter's chicken strips and they were pretty good.
The bottom line is that this is more a restaurant of atmosphere than one of quality dining. I suppose the point of not having sides with the sandwiches or burgers is to get you to order them a la carte and spend more money, but honestly I would have rather paid an extra dollar or so for a meal as opposed to just a sandwich.
This might be an okay spot for drinks with friends and appetizers, but as a place to go for a meal, it is not worth the overblown prices they charge for burnt burgers and poor service.

Post a CommentWhy would you go to a WING place for anything other then WINGS?! Don't go to a specialty place for burgers or sandwhichs.. Go to BWW for wings.. watch for the tuesdays and thursdays when they are crazy cheap.. and enjoy the wings. DONT go there for anything else..
I live 70 miles from Lawton, OK and I'm on the computer trying to decide what to do and where to go eat on this New Years Eve 2007 in Lawton OK.
I have looked up eateries and have come across the Buffalo Wild Wing article and comments on this restaurant. I have wanted to eat here since they opened. I'm glad I read the article, yes, it does make a difference in ones opinion on food and service.
I don't want to come all this way for an expensive so so meal on such a glorious evening.
I thank Becky G. for my deciding not to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings. Maybe, I will in the near future but, I will not waste my money and time tonight December 31, 2007.
Sounds yummy. I only like boneless chicken wings! I think pappa john has the best sauce.
Excellent article
Love them wings!
LOL. I didn't even mention my poor husband in that last statement. He loves it, too. :-)
Wow! I LOVE BWW and so do the kids. We have actually gotten quite addicted to it. The prices are very low and the food is great. Maybe you just went on a bad day. Although, I'm in Houston and you're in Oklahoma, so that could be the difference. LOL Miles and miles apart. Anyway, great review, even though I disagreed. :-)
I tend to agree It's ok but not great
i actually disagree. there is a WW in Erie, PA and i always had excellent food there and found it to be rather affordable. the old man and i went for many a browns game during the fall of last year.
Ok. You just gave me another good reason to come home. I never ate there!
