Restaurant Review: Casa Manana in Lake Charles, LA

Casa Ma±ana
Neighborhood: Lake Charles
2015 Ryan St., LA 70601
United States of America

Introduction:

Casa Manana has been a staple in Lake Charles since 1976. It is often crowded and noisy inside the restaurant. However, orders can be placed by calling and picking them up outside, too. There is no drive-thru, but orders can be placed outside if you are willing to wait and they are not too busy.

Promise:

Casa Manana claims to be Lake Charles' favorite since 1976. It also says that it was voted to have the best margaritas in SWLA (Southwest Louisiana).

Setting:

The inside of Casa Manana is a little bit dark, however, in general the tables are comfortable. When the restaurant is crowded, it can be hot and noisy. However, the wait staff is nice and will try to seat your party where everybody is comfortable.

The outside is a parking lot inside a fence. The order pick-up is walled off by a wooden wall that leads to a window in the main building. People must walk up to this to pick up the order or to place the order when the restaurant is not too busy and then wait for the order.

Service:

The wait staff here is good and they take care to make sure your order is correct. If there is a problem, they do not gripe about it and ask what is not right about the order. They are willing to bring back food to fix it and have no problem brining more that is ordered while you are at the table.

Menu:

There is a huge variety of food offered that is traditional Mexican fair. The restaurant also has baby back ribs. Children also have the option of ordering a hamburger and fries or chicken nuggets and fries. Even though my sister is an adult, they have allowed her to order the children's chicken nugget plate.

Food:

While Casa Manana claims to have authentic Mexican food, there is a slight hint of American style cooking in the food. However, it is more traditional Mexican food than it is Tex-Mex. People who enjoy margaritas do love getting them at Casa Ma'ana. They also seem to love the frozen margaritas and frozen strawberry margaritas.

Price:

A meal can cost anywhere from $5-$20. However, the high prices at Casa Manana are reasonable because of the time, ingredients used, and the quality of the food ordered.

Location:

Casa Manana is on the West side of Ryan Street near the Walgreens that is next to Market Basket and Office Depot. It is in a great location and is easy to find.

Is it worth it?

A visit to Casa Manana now and then for an outing to a restaurant is definitely worth it. There's no reason not to enjoy the good food that is served there on occasion. If the inside is not a place wanted, then there's always the option of picking up food. Sometimes it can get uncomfortable waiting or picking up food, but that is only because of the weather and is not the restaurant's fault. Information, including the menu, can be found at the restaurant's website, which can be found below.

That sounds wonderful! A bit far to go for dinner though, but if I am ever that way will most assuredly check it out. Thank you!
