Their specialty is, of course, the cheeseburger, and they are fabulous. A nice-sized burger, topped with a delicious blend of cheeses, lettuce, tomato and mayo, will make your mouth water. But Cheeseburger in Paradise does everything on their menu well, including some magnificent sandwiches, which are tasty and wholly satisfying. Although they cost extra, you should definitely order a side of their outstanding seasoned fries. One order is large enough for two people, and they are well worth the extra four bucks. In fact, all prices at Cheeseburger in Paradise are fairly reasonable.
Their tropical drinks are strong - very strong - and delicious. They are a bit high-priced, but two should do you just fine. The Mai Tais at Cheeseburger in Paradise, served in a fresh pineapple, are some of the best on all of the island of Oahu, if not all of the Hawaiian Islands.
During my four month stay in Waikiki, I dined at Cheeseburger in Paradise at least five times a week for either lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and fun, as is the decor. The entire restaurant is, in fact, very welcoming. Ironic since their theme is cheeseburgers, Mai Tais, and attitude.
Although none of the people I dined with during my four month stay in Waikiki loved the place as much as I did, they did have some good things to say about it. My friend Julie said of Cheeseburger in Paradise: "It's a nice place to eat...occasionally. The food is very good. The service isn't half-bad. And the drinks are sensational, though a tad overpriced. I would definitely recommend Cheeseburger in Paradise to friends and family visiting Waikiki."
My friend John, who visited me in Hawaii, says of Cheeseburger in Paradise: "The food on the islands doesn't really stack up to the food on the mainland, but Cheeseburger in Paradise serves one of the best cheeseburgers I had in Hawaii. The restaurant is fun, but it's not a nightspot. Not a bad place to catch the game in the back by the bar. Their fries are awesome; it's too bad they don't come free with the burger. For a good meal that doesn't cost a fortune, Cheeseburger in Paradise is a great place to go in Waikiki."
