Restaurant Review of Corner Bistro in New York City

This is place where burgers and beer are in high supply! Corner Bistro is located in New York City in the west village area.

They have great burgers and fries, cheap drinks and everything is very affordable. Many people complain that the buns on these burgers could be a little "tougher". There buns are really soft and fluffy. I don't mind that because I always like when buns were soaked in the juices from the meat! Also, the menu is kind of limited. You can only order burgers, fries, grilled cheese sandwiches and BLTS's. Some people see that as a con, but that is their niche and it is really working for them.

If you have kids I would recommend that you take them there when the restaurant has low traffic. I would say the middle of the day or early evening. The reason I make this suggestion is because this is a smoking friendly environment. During peak hours this place gets crowded out and chances are you will continually get caught up in a cloud of smoke.

This is a very popular burger joint and if you go during peak hours you will wait in very long lines! However, Corner Bistro has started doing something that many more restaurants should start doing. You are able to order drinks while you wait in line. There are drinks options for their kids too if they need something to drink while you wait.

Another thing I think you should know is that you must have cash on you. They don't expect anything, but cash. I really don't know their reasoning for this, but I thought I would give you a little heads up!

One thing that I don't really like about Corner Bistro is the service. The workers seem to be only concerned about getting people in and out as quickly as possible. They are necessarily the friendliest people in the world. I don't think it's because they are rude, I think it's more that they are task oriented especially during peak hours. The waiters and waitresses really don't come over to check on you and see what you need unless you call for them. They will come over and refill your drinks when they are running low, but that is about it!

If you and are not really that find of the environment at least get their amazing fries and be on your way. The fries are only $2 and are thin cut and crispy.
